In metal packaging industry, some metal containers are big volume, such as conical pails, necking pails, steel drums, water heater storage tanks and square cans. For the big size products, the drum welder is not simply to lengthen size. The drum welding machine must be designed in an overall coordinated manner to accommodate the production of special large-format products. The stacks of big size metal sheets are heavy, we install additional front feeder before the welder, then the machine operator just need to push the stacks of sheet through rollers on the front feeder effortlessly, and the metal sheets are sucked from the top of the stacks. So the pneumatic and motor system must be stronger to support the heavy materials. In common, the big size sheets are thick, then the electric system must be powerful enough to output a stable current to be competent for welding, and the welding rollers and lower arms must be bigger than common size.

Pailbody welder is suitable for conical pails, cylindrical pails 18 liter cubic cans or steel drums. So the pailbody welding machine is usually named as metal drum welder or drum welding machine. GR Can Making Machine specially produces fully automatic pail body welding machine and back feeding manual pail body welder for many years. Our resistance solder just requires a minimal overlap then weld the seam overlap well. The automatic pail welding machine is designed as top-sucking on roll forming station. Equipped with dual sheet detector, the pail welder will automatically stop when the sucker sucks more than one piece of tinplate sheet. On each type of welding bodymaker, the water cooling system is flexible for universal welding roller or mercury free welding roller. And the lower arm of pailbody solder can be connected to the wet lacquer coating arm or powder coating arm of side seam protection system, then the pail body welding line is continuously and automatically. For the metal pail welding line, it can be connected to the pail bodyformer as complete pail making line. For different sizes of metal containers, our tin pail welder is equipped with quick change calibration crown, and the rollformer is also easy to adjust for curvature, the GW series tin pail welding machine made by GR can be up to max. 60 pails per minute.

 

      


The can body welding machine consists of

1 Tinplate roll forming station

The first station of tin can body welder is the tinplate rounding station, it sucks the tinplate sheet and bend it as round.

2 Copper wire system

The resistance welder needs copper wire as media. The special copper wire for can manufacturing should be profiled as flat, then running by the driven system of metal can body welder. After seam welding, the copper wire is cut and recycle by chopper.

3 Welding system

The upper and lower welding roller melt the tinplate and weld it as can body. The welding system use the electric resistance principle to produce high temperature and weld the metal.

4 Water cooling system

During the soldering process, the welding rollers of metal can welder will be hot, so the metal can welding machine need water colling circle to refrigerate the welding system, then the meal can welder can run continuously.

5 Control system

GR welding machine employs international brand electric device and pneumatic device, for the automatic can soldering machine, the touch screen will control the running of the can solder, the can maker just need to set the parameter inside the control panel, then the tin body welder will run continuously.

 

How does the tin can seam welder work?  

The tin can seam welding machine sucks the tinplate on rolling station, through can conveying table, convey the round tinplate to the upper and lower welding roller, the calibration crown is designed as the can diameter, after welding, the tin container is conveyed to the next station for welded side seam protection.
