Short Can Elevator
For the short cans and long cans that share the same machine, we design the can elevator on each station, in case of long can production, the elevator is not lift, and in case of short can production, the elevator would be lift to support the can and make it high sufficiently to be processed. The shift between short cans and long cans is easy and simple, in the touch screen, there are two types of modes, long can mode and short can mode. In the status of long can mode, the can elevator will not rise, and in the status of short can mode, the can elevator will rise. This solution can help can makers reduce cost and expand the application range of can making line.
Decoiler and Support Rod
The wire pay-off action of decoiler is controlled by the proximity switch on the support rod. During the wire straightening process, the external wire will slide up and down in the support rod. When the wire slider is at the lower point, the proximity switch receives the signal, and the pay-off motor stops. If the lower point proximity switch does not receive a signal, it will keep turning and releasing the wire.

Ear welding machine is used to attach the ears or lugs onto container, also named as ear welder or spot welder. The spot welding machine weld the lugs preparing for the handle forming-attaching machine, which is used to bend the metal wire as bails with hook and plastic grips, then mount the bails onto the lugs, also name as bail placing machine. Now a day, the two station can be combined as one combine to replace the lug welder and wire handle forming machine, and the spot spray coating system inside the lugs is available.
Automatic feeding double head ear welder is applied widely in conical pails and paint cans. For this type of metal containers, they require to weld metal components named ears, lugs or rivets on the outside of container body for the metal or plastic handles or bails. Then this type of machine is also named as spot welder or lug welder. GR specially produces ear welding machine for tin containers. Our automatic lug welding machine can automatically feed the cans or pails, then the spot welding machine will index the weld seam, to ensure the metal lugs are welded in fixed position. Then the metal lugs, ears or rivets in two hoppers will be automatically conveyed to the two welding heads separately and concurrently. After the can components are welded into the can body, the handle forming bail placing machine can be combined with the automatic spot welder as one machine or independently.
The bail placing machine is used to form the metal wire handle and mount the handle onto the can body. It is widely applied in paint cans or conical pails. The decoiler feeds the metal wire to the bail forming and mounting machine, then the plastic grips are fed from the hopper, and the metal wire insert into the plastic grips, the tool of the handle placing machine cut the wire and form the hook, then feed the complete bail onto the lugs on both side of containers. The whole process is fully automatic, if your handle is plastic, the handle placing machine also can mount your plastic handle onto the rivets of paint cans. 1 Welding system
The spot welding machine is used to weld the lugs on the both side of conical pails or paint cans, so the machine is also name ear welding machine or lug welding machine.
2 Hopper
The hopper is also named as vibrator, it is a funnel shape device to fill with welding lugs or ears and arrange it in sequence, then feed the lugs one by one onto the paint can body or conical pail body.
3 Wire decoiler
The wire decoiling machine is to load the coil of metal wire, and decoil it to feed the wire placing system
4 Bail placing system
For the paint cans or conical pails, they are attached two lug components and placed with bail, so the can or pail can be equipped with wire handle. The bail placing machine can bend the wire to form as handle shape, insert the plastic grip onto the wire, and bend the hook on both side of wire handle, then attach the wire handle onto the container body automatically.
5 Spray coating system
The inside welding position of lugs can be coated by the spot coating system, the coating layer can protect the inside welding spot well.
How does the ear handle combination machine work?
1 Preparation of lugs, wire and grips
The welded lugs, formed wire and inserted grips are put on the hopper and decoiler first, preparing for the feeding.
2 Positioning
The paint can or conical pail are fed and detected for positioning the welding seam, so the position of welding spot can keep consistence.
3 Spot welding
The conical pail or paint can are welded with two piece of lugs at the same time, then conveyed to the next station.
4 Handle forming and attaching
After the ear welding, the metal wire is formed and attached onto the container body.
5 Spot coating
After the spot welding and handle mounting, the spray nozzle will coat a layer on the welding point by spraying.
